Can’t log in
Forgot password
Go to use.runtype.com
Click Sign in
Click Forgot password?
Enter your email
Check email for reset link
Create new password
Email not recognized
If Runtype says your email doesn’t exist:
Check for typos in email address
Try signing up—you may not have created an account yet
Check if you signed up with Google or GitHub instead of email/password
Wrong password
Verify caps lock is off
Use password reset if you don’t remember it
Try signing in with Google/GitHub if you used OAuth
Google OAuth issues
OAuth error after clicking “Continue with Google”
Solutions:
Clear browser cookies and try again
Try incognito/private browsing mode
Use different browser
Ensure pop-ups aren’t blocked
Wrong Google account selected
Sign out of all Google accounts
Sign in to the correct Google account
Return to Runtype and sign in with Google
GitHub OAuth issues
OAuth error with GitHub
Solutions:
Verify Runtype has OAuth authorization in GitHub → Settings → Applications
Revoke and re-authorize if needed
Clear browser cache and retry
Email verification
Didn’t receive verification email
Check spam/junk folder
Wait 5-10 minutes (emails can be delayed)
Add noreply@runtype.com to contacts
Request new verification email from dashboard
Verification link expired
Go to use.runtype.com and sign in
Click Resend verification email
Check email for new link
Account locked
If your account is locked after multiple failed login attempts:
Wait 30 minutes for automatic unlock
Or use password reset to unlock immediately
Contact support if issue persists
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Lost 2FA device
Use backup codes provided during 2FA setup
If no backup codes, contact support with account verification details
2FA code not working
Ensure device time is synchronized
Try next code (codes expire every 30s)
Use backup code if available
Never share your password or API keys with anyone, including Runtype support. We will never ask for your password.
Session expired
If you’re logged out unexpectedly:
Sign in again
Sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity
Check “Remember me” to extend session
Multi-organization access
Wrong organization showing
Click your avatar in top right
Select Switch Organization
Choose the correct organization
Can’t see expected organization
Verify you were invited to that organization
Check invitation email for acceptance link
Contact organization admin to resend invite
If you still can’t access your account:
Email support@runtype.com
Include:
Email address used for account
Last successful login date (if known)
Error messages or screenshots
Support will help verify and restore access
